Following the ongoing political crisis in Mali, President Muhammadu Buhari and other five African leaders travelled to Mali in the hope of restoring peace and unity in the country.
However, the attempt of the leaders to resolve the political crisis ended in a deadlock as the resistance group insisted that the President Keita of Mali must resign before peace can be restored in the country.
The Mali’s crisis started on June 5, 2020 after President Keita was accused of failing to tackle the dire economy and also for engaging in corruption. The resistance party also questioned the parliamentary elections that handed power over to Keita and is also requesting that the elections be dissolved.
