Rapper, Snoop Dogg is set to make his live theatrical debut in a new play titled Redemption of a Dogg. The new play features Snoop and Tamar Braxton.
The play is reportedly written, directed and produced by playwright, producer and director Je’Caryous Johnson and follows Snoop – whose real name is Calvin Broadus – and his internal struggle between preserving his life-long legacy and losing the love of his life.
Snoop’s recent Gospel album, Bible of Love and a few more of his songs will serve as the play’s soundtrack.
Redemption of a Dogg debuts in Houston, Texas on 15 October and tours the US before ending in November in Washington D.C.
Back in 2001, Snoop starred as a wheelchair-using drug dealer opposite Denzel Washington in Training Day.
