Former Big Brother Naija housemate Segun Olusemo, popularly known as Sheggz, has threatened legal action against his ex-girlfriend, Chiddima Esther Okagbue, better known as Bella, over alleged defamatory claims involving an ₦11 million debt.
Sheggz’s legal representatives, in a letter dated August 21, 2026, accused Bella of making defamatory statements about him, including allegations that he was abusive towards her, owed her ₦11 million, and made disparaging remarks about him and his family.
The lawyers also accused Bella of cyberbullying Sheggz and allegedly threatening to use social media to cause him mental distress and damage his reputation among his peers, business associates and the public.
The letter demanded that Bella immediately stop making the alleged defamatory statements, remove the content from all platforms and issue a public retraction and apology on social media.
The legal threat comes amid the growing fallout from the former couple’s highly publicised breakup, which has sparked widespread reactions from fans and social media users.
The controversy escalated after alleged screenshots of conversations in which Sheggz appeared to ask Bella for money circulated online, fuelling claims that he owed her money.
Bella had earlier broken her silence on the breakup, insisting that her desire to marry Sheggz wasn’t out of desperation but genuine love. She also said she was forced to leave the relationship after giving it multiple chances that failed to produce the outcome she wanted.
Sheggz, meanwhile, disclosed that their relationship ended in January 2026 after a difficult period. He said he had continued investing in the relationship because he believed they had a future together.
He also revealed that he had bought a ring with plans to propose to Bella before their relationship ended.
