The death of NFF Technical Director and former Super Eagles coach, Shaibu Amodu, has rocked the football world and thrown Nigerians into mourning, days after the shocking death of football legend Stephen Keshi.
Amodu has coached the Super Eagles more times than any other coach, having led the national team five times. His first appointment was Super Eagles Coach in 2001 and guided the team to secure qualification for the 2002 World Cup only to be sacked months to the tournament.
Late Shuaibu Amodu’s former media aide, Idah Peterside, took to twitter to reveal that the Nigeria Football Federation was owning the former Super Eagles coach and NFF technical director, salaries for about seven ‘7’ months. Peterside stressed the need for the government to look after its own, saying that those who have served Nigeria deserve double honour.
Although Amodu was buried immediately after his death according to Muslim rights, it is believed that a ceremonial burial will be organized to honour the departed coach. Some state governments have shown interests in being a part of the burial activities albeit to use it for cheap political points.

NFF has now confirmed they were indeed owning the Late Amodu, but claim it was just for two months. According to NFF Gen. Sec, Mohammed Sanusi, the Federation is owing late Coach Shuaibu Amodu salaries for two (2) months and all monies due will be paid to his family.
