Kano Pillars rewarded a massive home crowd with a narrow 2-1 win over the Enugu Rangers on the opening day of the Nigerianย Professional Football League.
The Sani Abacha stadium witnessed an attendance of 24,000 yesterday as the Masu gidaย came from a goal down to secure victory from the jaws of defeat.
The first goal of a tight encounter came in the 50th minute courtesy Chiamka Madu and for much of the second half, it looked like Enugu Rangers would run away with the result.
However, twelve minutes from time, Gambo Mohammed’s header drew Pillars level before Pillar’s new signing, Prince Aggreh scored the winner in the final minute of additional time.
