North Korea has announced that it has successfully detonated its first hydrogen bomb.

The successful test of the country’s first nuclear weapon is of course a concern to world powers as it drastically changes the balance of international power.

An earthquake was reported near North Korea’s nuclear plant today fueling speculation that North Korea’s assertions are true.

“This is the self-defensive measure we have to take to defend our right to live in the face of the nuclear threats and blackmail by the United States and to guarantee the security of the Korean Peninsula,” a statement from North Korea said.
