The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has joined in the fight against Coronavirus pandemic and has offered N21 billion for the purpose of building hospitals in 12 states. This announcement was made by the Borno State’s Commissioner for Health, Senator Olorunnimbe Mamora, at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Emergency and Infectious Disease Hospital, Maiduguri during the weekend.
This project is designed toย create a turnaround in the health care delivery system of this country, strengthening it from its core to be able to fight against the Coronavirus pandemic and to also help with the underlying and possible arising health issues within the country. The Coronavirus pandemic had highlighted the problems in the Nigerian health sector and it is really pleasant seeing that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation is making steps to build an infrastructure that would surely outlive Coronavirus pandemic.
