Filmmaker Niyi Akinmolayan has announced that he will permanently leave X at the end of the month as he looks to shift his focus away from constant Nollywood discussions online.
The director and producer explained that he now wants his social media experience to revolve more around science, mathematics and technology, areas he says align more with his personal interests at the moment. According to him, his timeline on X no longer reflects the kind of conversations he wants to engage in daily.
Although he plans to exit the platform, Akinmolayan made it clear that he is not stepping away from Nollywood entirely. He revealed that he will remain active on Instagram, where he intends to continue sharing movie-related updates and engaging with fans of the film industry.
