Nancy Isime Shares Her Take on Marriage and Financial Stability

Nigerian actress and media personality Nancy Isime has sparked reactions online after sharing her thoughts on marriage and money.

During an interview on Tea With Tay, the actress said she does not see marriage as a way to escape poverty. She explained that financial stability plays an important role in building a happy home.

Why Money Matters in Marriage

Nancy spoke about the challenges many families face when money is scarce. She questioned the idea that love alone can make a family happy when basic needs remain unmet.

“When there’s rent pending, the children’s school fees are unpaid, and there’s no food in the house, what’s fantastic about that life?” she asked.

She said financial struggles often create stress for couples and their families. According to her, people need to consider real-life responsibilities when discussing relationships.

Nancy Responds to Critics

During the conversation, the host challenged her views and asked if she believed love could exist without money.

Nancy quickly clarified her position. She said she never claimed that people cannot love each other when they have financial problems.

“It can be love,” she said.

However, she added that people define a “fantastic life” in different ways. For her, financial security remains an important part of happiness.

Speaking From Experience

Nancy also addressed suggestions that her views come from privilege.

“It’s not like I come from a privileged background. You’re not talking to somebody who has seen money all her life,” she said.

The actress explained that she understands financial hardship and does not speak from theory alone.

She added that living with debt would affect her quality of life.

“If I’m owing money and I’m not eating what I want, that’s not a fantastic life to me,” she said
