Mark Zuckerberg Unveils Meta VR Glasses at Meta Connect 2026

Mark Zuckerberg unveiled Meta VR Glasses at Meta Connect 2026, introducing a lightweight device combining cinema, work, gaming, and computing. During the keynote, Zuckerberg presented Meta VR Glasses as next-generation hardware designed to deliver immersive experiences without conventional bulky headsets.

The glasses weigh approximately 100 grams, making them five times lighter than Meta Quest 3, according to Meta’s official announcement. Meta equipped the device with a 5K Infinite Display using micro-OLED panels, creating visuals across expansive virtual screens for users.

Meanwhile, the headset uses a two-part design that moves the battery and processors away from the wearer’s face for comfort. A separate computing puck connects to the glasses and can clip onto clothing, fit inside pockets, or remain inside bags.

Users can create multiple virtual displays, connect other devices, and expand their workspace across large digital screens virtually anywhere today. Beyond entertainment, the device can function as a workspace, gaming platform, and cinematic screen while remaining lighter than traditional headsets.

The device also includes surface input capabilities, turning desks and tables into virtual keyboards and touchpads for spatial computing tasks. For entertainment, Meta positions the glasses as a portable cinema, gaming console, and workspace within one wearable experience for users.

Furthermore, Meta plans to integrate its Muse artificial intelligence agent into the glasses, expanding conversational assistance across everyday digital activities. According to Meta, the device will support movies, games, productivity tools, and other applications through its spatial computing environment today.

Meta VR Glasses will launch in spring 2027 at $1,299.99, placing them firmly within Meta’s premium hardware lineup. Zuckerberg’s presentation highlighted new developments across Meta’s AI glasses portfolio, including several new models across Ray-Ban, Oakley, and Meta brands.

The company expects more than one hundred AI glasses styles across its brands by the end of 2026 globally today. Connect 2026 also featured Meta’s first audio glasses, combining open-ear sound, artificial intelligence, and everyday wearable design for users worldwide.

Connect 2026 showcased Muse improvements, new AI capabilities, audio glasses, and expanded features designed around wearable computing experiences globally today. The unveiling gives consumers an early look at Meta’s vision for lighter immersive hardware, combining glasses portability with digital experiences.
