Lionel Messi Signs Documents to Take Over CD Eldense

Lionel Messi has reportedly signed the documents to acquire CD Eldense, moving closer to officially becoming the Spanish club’s new owner. The Argentine superstar has formalised the purchase of 100 percent of Eldense’s shares from Colombian investment group TH Soluciones Group.

The transaction marks another major step in Messi’s growing involvement in football ownership while he continues his playing career with Inter Miami. Reports from Spain say the completed paperwork now leaves the takeover awaiting approval from Spain’s High Council for Sports, known as the CSD.

Once approved, Messi will take control of Eldense and become the owner of his second Spanish football club in 2026. The 39-year-old previously acquired fifth-tier Spanish side UE Cornellà in April, expanding his football interests beyond his playing career.

Eldense currently competes in Spain’s second division and recently secured its first victory of the season against Sporting Gijón. Messi reportedly followed the club’s progress closely and even reacted to the victory on social media.

The acquisition could begin a new chapter for Eldense, with Messi expected to oversee the club’s sporting and commercial development. The ownership change also strengthens Messi’s growing presence in Spanish football after spending more than two decades connected with Barcelona.
