Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has raised the alarm over the safety of her two sons, alleging that her ex-husband’s wife told a child to hurt them without leaving marks.
Bakare made the allegation while appealing to the public over the welfare of her sons, who she said currently live with their father and his wife.
The actress said she overheard the woman giving a child an instruction that alarmed her, prompting concerns about the safety of her sons.
Bakare said she had complained to her ex-husband several times about her concerns but alleged that he had failed to act on them.
According to the actress, her ex-husband’s devotion to his wife had led him to dismiss her complaints and keep their sons away from her as a form of punishment.
She also alleged that her ex-husband had refused to allow her to renew the boys’ passports, preventing her from taking them to the United States or having them live with her.
Bakare said she had remained silent for a long time because she did not want to take the matter to social media.
The actress said her main request was for her sons not to live with their stepmother.
She also described the woman as two-faced, alleging that she appears pleasant in public but behaves differently in private. Bakare said this public image has made some people believe she is the one at fault in the dispute.
Bakare has three children: a daughter from her first marriage and two sons from her second marriage.
Her latest concerns come amid an ongoing custody dispute between her and her ex-husband.
In a separate post ahead of her birthday, Bakare also asked her followers to pray for the protection of her sons.
