Nigerian Afrobeats star Asake has reportedly submitted “GRATITUDE” for 2027 Grammy consideration in three categories, according to emerging industry reports. The song appears in Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best African Music Performance, spanning Grammy fields.
However, the reported entries represent submissions for consideration, not official nominations, and the Recording Academy must complete its voting process .“GRATITUDE” features on Asake’s 2026 album “M$NEY,” which arrived in spring and reflects his evolving sound and creative journey overall.
The track blends gratitude, resilience, and reflections on life, continuing the singer’s mix of Afrobeats rhythms and expressive vocal delivery. Asake’s growing international profile follows earlier Grammy nominations for “Amapiano,” featuring Olamide, and “MMS,” featuring Wizkid, in African music categories.
Those nominations helped establish the singer as a familiar Nigerian presence in Grammy conversations, although winning remains a separate achievement. The latest reports also mention other Asake entries, including album “M$NEY,” collaboration “JOGODO,” and “WORSHIP” with DJ Snake for consideration.
“M$NEY” reportedly targets Album of the Year and Best Global Music Album, while “JOGODO” seeks Best African Music Performance consideration. Meanwhile, “WORSHIP,” Asake’s collaboration with DJ Snake, reportedly enters the Best Dance Pop Recording category for the upcoming awards ceremony.
The Recording Academy’s voting is scheduled to determine which submissions advance, with official nominations expected in November, according to reports published. For Asake, recognition across general-field and African music categories would mark a milestone in his expanding global career if nominations follow.
Fans will need to wait for the shortlist before knowing whether “GRATITUDE” secures a nomination in any submitted category. Asake has continued releasing music and performing internationally, while “GRATITUDE” remains one of the songs featured on his latest album.
