Nigerian content creator Klinton Cod has criticised socialite Cubana Chief Priest over a video he shared during the funeral of late actor Alexx Ekubo in Abia State, describing the footage as insensitive and inappropriate for the solemn occasion.

In a video posted on Instagram, Klinton expressed displeasure with what he viewed as an emphasis on luxury and personal branding rather than mourning the deceased actor.

“This video might be the most insensitive video I have created in my life,” he said.

“I don’t know whether he needs help, but the level of hatred I have for this guy… I have never met him before. It is not because of jealousy of his money. I just don’t know whether he has friends who can tell him that there is a time for everything.

“Is it that you don’t have people who can tell you, ‘Chief Priest, we are going for a burial ceremony; it is not every time you use every opportunity to chase clout for yourself?’”

Klinton took issue with the video’s focus on luxury vehicles, including a Rolls-Royce and a G-Wagon, as well as a private jet and lavish meals, despite the funeral setting.

“You just lost a colleague. Alexx Ekubo was a talented actor. People are crying and mourning him, but the only video you were able to bring out is your Rolls-Royce, your G-Wagon, your private jet and the food you ate,” he said.

“The Bible says there is a time for everything under the sun. A time to laugh and a time to cry. Sometimes these things should have limits.”

Klinton also questioned Cubana Chief Priest’s circle of associates, including singer Davido.

“One of the reasons I am making this video is that it is not just about him anymore. I am beginning to question the people around him,” he said.

“Davido, whom I love so much, is associated with these kinds of people. I am now questioning my own love for Davido himself.
