For years, Kevin Hart and Katt Williams traded public shots, industry accusations, and personal jabs. But during Netflix’s live roast of Hart at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum, the longtime rivals finally put their feud to rest, though not without Williams delivering one last unforgettable takedown.
Making a surprise appearance during the event, Williams wasted no time reigniting the tension with a series of ruthless jokes aimed at Hart’s career, celebrity status, and recent performances in Saudi Arabia.
“I’m surprised they invited me,” Williams said after being introduced by Regina Hall. “That’s how little star power you have. They had to start inviting your enemies. I said, ‘I hate him.’ They said, ‘Come anyway.’”
The feud between the comedians resurfaced in 2024 after Williams accused Hart of being an industry plant and stealing movie roles from him. At the roast, Williams leaned fully into the controversy.
“Very humble of me to be at your GOAT roast tonight,” he joked. “Kevin, I’ve won an Emmy Award, but this is going to be my best acting tonight as I pretend like you are a GOAT for the people at home. You’re wondering, why is the Katt man doing this for the money? Bitch, this is my Riyadh Comedy Festival, only one with a soul.”
Williams kept the punches coming, telling Hart, “Kevin, you’re gonna hear some things tonight that you’re not familiar with. Those things are called punchlines.”
Still, the night ended on a surprisingly heartfelt note. After Williams’ set, Hart walked over, shook his hand, and publicly called for peace.
“This man and I have been at odds for years on years,” Hart said. “This is live television to put our fucking beef behind us. I am offering you an olive branch of peace.”
