Ex-Super Eagles Striker, Nwankwo Kanu has been named asย one of the greatest footballers ever by the FIFA supported Internationalย Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS).
The name of the lanky striker who captained the country’s Dream team 1 to Olympic glory in Atlanta 96 appears in a list of 48 footballers which will be updated over time to include other legends

Other Africans included in the list includesย former World player of the year ย George Oppong Weah, Roger Milla, Rabah Medjer, Muhammed Aboutrika, Mohmud El-Khatub and former Bafana Bafana captain Lucas Radebe.
The list of 48 legends is the first of a series of list which will be subsequently released.

Kanu played for the likes of Inter Milan, Arsenal and Ajax during his illustrious career winningย a UEFA Champions League medal, a UEFA Cup medal, three FA Cup Winners Medals.
He is also a two-time African footballer of the year award winner.
