Nasir El-Rufai, the Kaduna State Governor has reopened places of worship, supermarkets and hotels in the state. This announcement was made by the governor himself on Monday. He also lifted the ban on intra-state movements; however, the governor still imposed a curfew on intra-state movement between 8pm to 5am.
He said that the partial reopening of the state must be done in compliance with the safety protocols of temperature-checks, hand washing, use of sanitizers and physical distancing. The governor also mentioned that workers will be allowed to work between the hours of 9am – 3pm.
He said, “Church services are allowed only on Sundays and Mosques are allowed to conduct only Friday Jumat services, for the time being, subject to compliance with the safety stipulations in the guidelines.
โSupermarkets and providers of personal services such as hairdressing and barbing salons can reopen; hotels can fully open, but with their restaurants and bars offering only room service. Restaurants may all reopen after decontamination, but are still restricted to takeaways.โ
