Jordan has executed two ISIS prisoners after ISIS released a video purportedly showing the killing of the Jordanian pilot who was held hostage by ISIS.
The video showed Jordanian pilot Lt. Muath al-Kaseasbeh, 26- who was captured in Syria after his plane crashed during a bombing mission-being burnt alive after a series of negotiations between ISIS and the Jordanian authorities to try to reach a prisoner swap agreement. ISIS demanded the release of its prisoners while failing to give the Jordanian government proof that their pilot was alive.
In an unprecedented retaliatory move, Jordan has announced the execution of two ISIS prisoners Sajida al-Rishawi and Ziad al-Karbouli. Al Rishawi has been held in detention since 2005 following her attempt to bomb three hotels in Amman, the Jordanian capital.
There is widespread belief that the ISIS video which shows the killing of the pilot could be as old a month old and has brought an end to speculations regarding the life of the pilot.
