10 American sailors have been detained in the Gulf by the Iranian Revolutionary guard after drifting into Iran’s waters.

Iran claims that the sailors were “snooping” in Iranian waters after the two small boats the sailors were in developed mechanical faults. The incident occurred near the Farsi Island in the middle of the Gulf.

US officials have confirmed that the sailors were indeed detained but said the soldiers will be released today.
