The Department of State Security (DSS), has released the All Progressives Congress (APC) deputy governorship candidate in the Kogi State election on November 21, 2015 g, Hon. James Faleke and the eldest son of the party’s late governorshipย candidate, Alhaji Mohammed Audu.
The reasons for their arrest has not been made public but they spent about seven hours in DSS detention yesterday, January 9.
The Director of Media and Publicity of Audu/Faleke Campaign Organisation,Mr Duro Meseko who earlier raised the alarm that the duo were taken into custody after honouring an invitation by the DSS at exactly 10.00 am on Saturday, confirmed that they were released at about 5 p.m.
Faleke is claimant to the APC governorship victory in Kogi State and had approached the state governorship election petition tribunal to regain the Audu/ Faleke mandate, which he believed they had won at first ballot on November 21, 2015.
Faleke is also a member of the Lago State House of Assembly representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, had also vowed not to work with the Governor-elect, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, or present himself for swearing-in as deputy governor of Kogi State on January 26, 2016.
