The Chairman of NPFL team, FC Ifeanyi Ubah, has redeemed his pledge to the Super Eagles of Nigeria and has presented the team with $5,000.
Ifeanyi Ubah had earlier pledged $5,000 to the Super Eagles if they beat the Pharoahs of Egypt at the Kaduna stadium but despite drawing the match, Ifeanyi Ubah donated the cash gift to the Eagles and $3,000 to the technical crew.
He said, “I am giving this to the Super Eagles to motivate them to win the match in Alexandria on Tuesday. I made the pledge to give the team $5,000 as our support to inspire them to pick the maximum points against Egypt in Kaduna on Friday. Although the game ended in a 1-1 draw, it is my conviction that the team deserve to be motivated ahead of the game on Tuesday in Egypt.”
The Super Eagles will face the Pharaohs in the second leg knowing that only a victory will suffice if they are to qualify from the group.
