Lam Chris Warns Aspiring Contestants About ‘Fake’ Pageants, Shares Funny DM Experience

Lam Chris has advised aspiring pageant contestants to properly investigate competitions before signing up, warning that some organisers allegedly exploit contestants without offering genuine opportunities.

Speaking during an interview on Yanga 89.9 FM, he claimed that certain pageants already have preferred winners before the contest even begins, leaving other participants to spend money and energy for nothing.

According to him, contestants often pay for registration, outfits, rehearsals, and other preparations, only to later discover that the process was never transparent.

“Why not just tell people you already have someone you want to crown instead of stressing others?” he said. “In every industry, there are bad eggs, so people should make proper enquiries before joining any pageant.”

Lam Chris encouraged contestants to research organisers carefully, check the credibility of competitions, and speak with former participants before committing.

During the interview, he also shared a funny experience involving a female admirer. According to him, the lady initially sent him a romantic message saying she loved him, wanted to marry him, and have his children. However, after he failed to respond immediately because the message was in his request folder, she returned the next day with insults.

“She first said, ‘I love you so much, let’s get married.’ Then the next day she said, ‘Ugly boy, you will not even win,’” he recalled jokingly.

The conversation later shifted to relationships in pageantry, where Lam Chris explained that male pageants are becoming more inclusive, allowing contestants who are fathers or in relationships to participate.

When asked about his own relationship status, he hinted that he is currently single, joking that he wants to focus on winning first before thinking seriously about romance.
