‘I Really Want a Baby’: Mercy Eke Speaks on Relationship and Future Plans

Former Big Brother Naija winner Mercy Eke has opened up about her relationship, marriage plans and life after her second appearance on the reality show. The reality star said she is ready to start a family, even though her long-term relationship has not yet led to marriage.

Mercy Eke Speaks on Relationship and Marriage

Speaking on Toke Makinwa’s podcast, Eke revealed that she has been dating her partner for four years. However, she said there is still no engagement ring.

“I have been dating someone for four years with no ring. He’s single. He knows me, and I’m not going to prove anything. I barely go out, and when I’m out, I don’t hide. I really want a baby.”

Eke said she believes she is ready for the next stage of her life. She added that she cannot force a man to get married.

“That aspect I remove myself. I have one, and he is a good man. I love him o. He keeps saying I’m not ready, but I don’t know what I am doing that makes him say so.”

She also explained why she feels prepared for marriage and family life.

“First, I am of age, I’m successful and mentally, I’m ready, and I think I can handle a home. I’m ready for that next level. I’m going to ask him why he is not ready.”

When asked if she would like to get married before having a child, Eke gave a direct answer.

“Right now, I want a baby. I think I am ready now.”

Why She Won’t Return to BBNaija

Eke also spoke about her experience after returning to Big Brother Naija for a second time. She said she has no plans to return to the show again.

“No, I went to Big Brother for the second time. I thought I was going to get the money again, so I’m done.”

The reality star said she remains focused on pushing herself to achieve more.

“Coming out of the house now, I have been pushing myself. I just put it upon myself to keep moving regardless of anything. I work hard and challenge myself.”

Life After School and Business Growth

Eke recently earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Sunderland in the United Kingdom.

She described the experience as challenging but rewarding. According to her, the knowledge she gained has helped her manage her businesses better.

“Education is the best thing anyone can do for themselves. There is nothing like knowledge, and no knowledge is a waste.”

Apart from her television career, Eke continues to focus on her businesses, including her fashion and fitness brands.
