“I Found God In My Darkest Moment” — Chude Jideonwo Opens Up On Depression, Politics & Purpose

Media entrepreneur Chude Jideonwo has stirred conversations online after opening up about forgiveness, justice, and the backlash he faced following the controversial interview with photographer Busola Dakolo.

Speaking during a revealing conversation, Chude said many people within the Christian community were unhappy that the interview aired. According to him, his team initially sought female hosts to handle the conversation, but several declined because of how sensitive the issue was at the time.

He also claimed that a popular Nigerian pastor advised against airing the interview and became upset when his team decided to proceed with it anyway. Chude added that some members of the institutional church have still not forgiven him over the decision, years later.

Reflecting on the controversy, the media entrepreneur shared his views on forgiveness and accountability, stressing that both can coexist. According to him, Christians must support a strong legal system because spiritual forgiveness does not cancel the need for justice.

“That sinner you hate, God may have already forgiven the person,” he said, adding that society still has a responsibility to ensure accountability through the law.

Chude also spoke about faith and personal growth, saying that people who truly have a relationship with God should not live in jealousy or bitterness toward others. He explained that genuine spirituality brings peace and changes the way people react to success, criticism, and disappointment.
