Box-office queen Funke Akindele has turned 49. The Nollywood star marked her birthday on Monday, August 24, in a stunning floor-length silver gown.
Funke shared new birthday portraits as she celebrated another year of life. She also shared a heartfelt message about her faith, growth and journey.
Funke Akindele Stuns in Silver
The actress looked elegant in the fitted silver gown. The dress featured a scooped neckline and slender shoulder straps.
Its hammered texture added bold geometric patterns to the bodice and straight-cut skirt. The metallic design gave a cool and striking feel.
Photographer Aham Ibeleme captured the portraits. Zack Styling was responsible for Funke’s birthday look.
She completed the outfit with statement gold jewellery. Her accessories included hammered-gold drop earrings with dark red stones, a chunky gold cuff and a matching ring.
Funke wore her hair in a full half-up, half-down style. Soft waves fell down her back. Her makeup featured warm, bronzed tones, defined brows and smoky earth-toned eyeshadow.
She also added soft blush and a glossy nude lip to complete the look.
The birthday shoot took place in a simple studio setting. Sheer white fabrics, neutral grey tones and white branches formed part of the backdrop. A vintage wooden trunk also added to the overall look.
Funke Shares Birthday Prayer
Beyond the stunning portraits, Funke’s birthday message focused on gratitude and faith.
“Today is my birthday. My heart is full of gratitude to God for all He has done, all He is doing, and all that is still to come. Through every season, every lesson, every win, every mistake and every challenge, God has remained my strength and my shield.”
The actress also reflected on the difficult moments she has faced and how her faith helped her move forward.
“Even in moments when I have fallen short, He has given me the grace to rise, learn, keep going and become better. Today, my prayer is simple. That God blesses me with good health, long life, peace and the grace to keep walking in purpose.”
Funke also spoke about her desire to make a lasting impact on other people.
“I pray that my life continues to mean something beyond me. That I can touch more lives, open more doors, nurture more talents, raise more stars and allow others to become everything God has called them to be.”

Funke Akindele has another major project ahead. Her upcoming film, The Four: No One Fights Alone, is set for a global cinema release on December 11, 2026.
