Fresh concerns have emerged over veteran Nollywood actor Hanks Anuku after a new video showed him lying on a street in a distressed state.

The viral clip shows Anuku wearing a black shirt, blue jeans and red sneakers. He appears disoriented and speaks to himself while people gather around him.

Some passers-by expressed concern over his condition. One woman called for urgent help, saying, “You guys should do something. This is very important.” Another person in the video alleged that substance abuse may be a factor.

The footage has renewed public concern about the actor’s well-being. It also marks the second widely shared incident involving Anuku in recent years.

In 2022, another viral video showed him wearing tattered clothes and walking through the streets. Anuku later said the clip came from a movie set. He also accused those who shared it of trying to damage his reputation.

During the controversy, actress Shan George defended the actor. She insisted he is “not insane.” Actress Adanma Luke disagreed with her position, prompting the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) to investigate the matter.

In 2024, Anuku said the earlier viral video had “ruined” his career. He said he lost friends, faced financial hardship and stopped receiving movie roles.

The Actors Guild of Nigeria has not issued an official statement on the latest video.
