Fox Corp. has secured the rights to broadcast a wide range of NFL games in Mexico under a new agreement.
The deal allows Fox to air NFL games through its television channels, the Fox One streaming platform, and the ad-supported streaming service Tubi.
Mexican viewers will be able to watch “Thursday Night Football,” regular-season Sunday games, Thanksgiving matchups, NFC playoff games, the Pro Bowl, and the Super Bowl.
Fox will also launch four weekly NFL programs created specifically for Mexican fans. The lineup includes two fantasy football shows.
The agreement comes as reports suggest the NFL may seek to renegotiate its media rights deals with major U.S. broadcasters. Those partners include Fox, Paramount, Skydance, NBCUniversal, and Amazon.
The league is believed to be exploring ways to increase the value of its media agreements. The move follows the strong demand for NFL content and recent gains in sports media rights fees.
Carlos Martínez, executive vice president of Fox’s Latin American operations, said the company sees significant opportunities in Mexico.
“Mexico is a market with an enormous passion for football, and we are proud to offer fans a sizeable NFL package in the country, with a robust content experience, designed to engage audiences throughout the entire year,” he said.
The new agreement strengthens the NFL’s reach in Mexico. It also gives Fox a larger role in serving one of the league’s biggest international fan bases.
