Femi Adebayo broke down in tears while paying tribute to veteran Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, as celebrities mourned his death.
The Yoruba entertainment industry gathered in Ilaro, Ogun State, on Monday to bid farewell to the veteran actor. Ogogo died on Sunday at the age of 66 after a prolonged battle with stage-four cancer.
The burial prayers were held at the Asade Agunloye Pavilion Ground in Ilaro at 10 a.m. The Chief Imam of Ilaro led the prayers.
Family members, colleagues and fans attended the ceremony to honour the actor. Ogogo had spent more than four decades in Yoruba cinema.

Before the burial, emotions ran high at the premiere of King Kosoko: The Battle for Lagos.

Fuji music legend Kwam 1 also struggled to hold back his emotions after news of Ogogo’s death spread.
Several Yoruba entertainers also paid tribute to the late actor.
Foluke Daramola wrote, “It’s a wrap, eerin wo o. Another sad Sunday in the Nollywood space.”
Biola Adebayo described Ogogo as “a gem”, while Ayo Adesanya said he would “always be the one and only Ogogo.”
Kunle Afod, Afeez Owo, Bose Alao, Nkechi Blessing and Woli Arole were among others who mourned the actor.
Ogogo’s final days
Ogogo’s death came days after his daughters, Kira and Haleemah, made an emotional appeal for medical assistance.
They revealed that doctors could no longer administer chemotherapy because of his worsening condition.
Femi Adebayo also appealed for help in connecting the family with oncology specialists. Nigerians and entertainment figures offered medical, spiritual and other forms of support.
Born on October 31, 1959, in Ilaro, Ogogo began acting in 1981 while working as an automobile mechanic. He left his civil service job in 1994 to focus fully on acting.
He featured in films including Owo Blow, Agbelebu, Aníkúlápó and Bank Alert.
