The Federal Ministry of Education has ordered the reopening of schools from Tuesday, 4th August, 2020 for Junior and Senior Secondary School students who are in exit classes, that is, JSS3 and SS3 students.

According to Channels Television, this decision was reached unanimously after a virtual meeting among the Federal Ministry of Education, all Commissioners of Education, the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), the proprietors of private schools and Chief Executives of Examination Bodies.

This is to ensure that students adequately prepare for the forthcoming WAEC examinations which have been scheduled to start on August 17.
