Fans Use Flamethrowers and Axes to Reveal Drake’s Iceman Release Date

Fans have taken to flamethrowers, axes, and even campfires in a frantic attempt to uncover the release date of Drake’s upcoming album Iceman, turning a promotional stunt into a viral spectacle in Toronto.

The chaos began after the rapper revealed he had installed a massive block of ice concealing the album’s release date at a downtown location. “Release Date Inside. 81 Bond Street, Downtown Toronto,” he wrote, prompting crowds to gather and try their luck at breaking through the frozen structure.

What followed was a mix of excitement and desperation. Some fans attacked the installation with tools like sledgehammers and pickaxes, while others tried to melt it using unconventional methods, including flamethrowers and hairdryers. A few even camped overnight, waiting for the ice to give way as temperatures rose.

The stunt is part of a broader rollout that has leaned heavily into theatrical moments. Days earlier, Drake iced out his courtside seats at a Toronto Raptors game, while a pyrotechnic display tied to a music video shoot in North York sparked concern among residents.

The album, expected in 2026, marks his first solo project since For All the Dogs and follows his collaborative release Some Sexy Songs 4 U with PartyNextDoor. Early previews through livestreams have already generated buzz, with tracks like “What Did I Miss?” climbing the charts.
