According to TECHPOINT,ย Celestine Omin, a former software executive at Konga,ย officiallyย announcedย his exit from Konga to joinย Andela today.
Indeed, Omin had hinted this in an earlier blogpost, albeit cryptically โ he neverย mentioned where he was leaving Konga to. Todayโs blog post finally cleared the air.
โToday marks the beginning of a new chapter in my lifeโ, he said, โ a new opportunity, a fresh start. Today, I become an Andelan. Iโm excited about the future, I canโt wait to see what it brings.
Omin was aย founding team member of Konga โ fromย when the startup launched in 2012 from a small room, until it grewย beyond running a 24-hour warehouse.
This year has seen its fair share of Konga exits . Former VP Marketing and Creative, Gabriel Gab-Umoden left in March to join Surbuban. JR Kanu was former VP Business Development. He headed the 32-man Kongapay team before quitting in Julyย to found Reach. Finally, founder Sim Shagaya resigned from his CEO role in January. He however remains on the board of Konga.
In light of these,ย Celestine Ominโsย exit does not necessarily come as a surprise.ย Ominย joins Andela in the capacity of Senior Technical Assistant, which will have him in direct contact with Andela clients, among other things.
