Egypt remains Africa’s most successful men’s national side after winning AFCON titles in 1957, 1959, 1986, 1998, 2006, 2008, and 2010 proudly. The Egyptian Football Association uses one official crest for both senior men’s and women’s national teams across international football competitions consistently.
That decision fueled criticism because many football fans believe women’s teams should celebrate accomplishments earned through their own competitive performances exclusively. Nigeria’s Super Falcons, for example, proudly display stars representing their record Women’s Africa Cup of Nations triumphs achieved across several generations successfully.
Supporters remain divided, with some defending Egypt’s unified badge while others demand recognition based solely on women’s football achievements and history.
