Ed Sheeran has revealed plans to step away from music after his current tour, saying he wants to spend more time with his family and focus on fatherhood.
Speaking about his plans, the British singer said, “This is gonna be my last time here in a while. I might take some time off once this tour has ended and do the dad thing.”
The announcement comes as Sheeran continues balancing his global music career with family life. He and his wife, Cherry Seaborn, first met as children before reconnecting in 2015. The couple married in 2019 and are parents to two daughters, Lyra, 5, and Jupiter, 4.
While the decision may disappoint fans eager for new music and performances, it is not the first time the award-winning singer has taken an extended break from the spotlight.
In 2015, Sheeran stepped away from music to travel and recharge after years of intense touring and recording. He also took another hiatus between 2019 and 2021 following the end of his hugely successful Divide tour.
Over the years, the singer has often spoken about the importance of maintaining a balance between his professional commitments and personal life. His latest comments suggest he is once again prioritising time with his wife and children after completing his tour obligations.
