Cute Abiola seeks $30,000 for drone maker’s pilot training after spending ₦40m

Popular comedian and skit maker Cute Abiola has spent more than ₦40 million to support local drone maker Aliu Musa Damilola’s dream of becoming a commercial pilot, earning praise from fans on social media.

The comedian recently shared a YouTube documentary chronicling Musa’s journey from building remote-controlled aircraft from scratch to becoming a professional pilot.

Musa, who developed an interest in flying at a young age, explained how his passion inspired him to start building aircraft.

“It all started as a passion when I was very young. I really wanted to be a pilot, so that motivated me to start building remote-controlled aircraft from scratch.”

Cute Abiola also shared clips documenting his relationship with Musa, from their first meeting in 2023, when the comedian saw his locally built aircraft, to 2026, when Musa had become a professional pilot.

The comedian revealed that he had spent more than ₦40 million on Musa’s aviation education and accommodation.

“We have spent more than 40 million for him to be in school and become a commercial pilot, including accommodation,” he said.

However, Cute Abiola appealed to Nigerians to help raise an additional $30,000 to enable Musa to obtain his type rating, a qualification required for pilots to operate specific aircraft types.

Musa demonstrated the skills he had acquired during his training by taking the comedian on a flight.

The gesture has attracted widespread praise from social media users, many of whom commended Cute Abiola for investing in another person’s ambition and helping him pursue a lifelong dream.

His support has also drawn attention to Musa’s journey, which highlights how encouragement and financial assistance can help individuals overcome the cost of specialised professional training.
