Court Grants Honeywell’s Request For Expedited Hearing

At the Appeal Court today, the suit involving Honeywell Flour Mills and Ecobank Limited came up for hearing.

It appears that the rather complex and multiple suits involving the two parties will be resolved.

Dr. Dapo Olanipekun, counsel to Honeywell Flour Mills drew the attention of the court to two pending applications.

One was a motion on notice dated 14th December, 2015 praying for the following orders:

An order directing the Registrar of the Federal High Court to release/ transmit the case file and record of proceeding of the suit to the Court of Appeal.

An order suspending the exparte orders made by the Federal High Court on 18th November, 2015.
In the alternative to the above, an order, varying the orders of the Federal High Court delivered on 4th December, 2015.

The lead counsel for Honeywell Flour mill then urged the court to expedite hearing on what it considered a “scandalous” matter.
The court granted the motion and adjourned the suit to February 10, 2016 to hear all pending applications and hinted that it may proceed to the substance of the case itself on the same day.
