Chocomilo Hitmaker Maxi Kabiesi Reflects On His Influence In Nigerian Music Industry

Born Abidoye Oluwaseyi Kazeem, veteran Nigerian artist Maxi Kabiesi recently reflected on his enormous influence on the music industry, especially in the late 2000s.

The Port Harcourt-born musician revealed in an enlightening interview with Lucky Urdu that Burna Boy, a Grammy winner, used to respect him when he was just starting out in music.

Maxi Kabiesi went on to say that when Burna Boy, the worldwide sensation, returned to Nigeria to start his music career, he had the chance to work with him.

Reflecting on his journey, Maxi recalled being just 21 years old when he dropped his hit song โ€œChocoMiloโ€ in 2008, a track that enjoyed widespread success.

However, the singer also opened up about the hurdles he faced after signing with a record label that slowed his career progression.

Despite these obstacles, Maxi remains optimistic and proud of his latest projectโ€”a collaboration with Duncan Mighty on the track โ€œCarry Goโ€.
