Former Niger Delta militant leaders in support of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) struggle have given the Federal Government 31-day ultimatum to release the leader of the group and Radio Biafra Director, Nnamdi Kanu, or face vandalisation of the country.
The spokesperson for the former warlords, simply identified as General Ben, declared that Federal Government should not underrate the activities of the militants in the Niger Delta, no matter the number of soldiers deployed against them. He described Kanu as someone fighting a just cause.
He said, nothing should happen to Kanu, adding that the Federal Government should not forget what the former militants can do.
Kanu who was picked up in Lagos about 4 months ago by operatives of the Department of Security Service, DSS has since been in detention.
He has been charged with treasonable felony by the secret service.
