Martins and Mercedes have become the first housemates to leave the 2026 edition of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) after receiving the lowest votes from viewers.
The reality stars left the show on Sunday night during the live eviction show. Their low vote counts ended their hopes of winning this year’s grand prize.
Earlier in the week, Big Brother asked each housemate to save three fellow contestants. The four housemates with the most saves initially secured safety.
However, Sheba used her Head of House privilege to save Chimsom Chuka. Her decision replaced Cassi, who had initially ranked among the four most-saved housemates.
Tram, Barry, Goddessa and Chimsom then secured immunity for the week.
The change left 19 housemates vulnerable to eviction. Martins and Mercedes eventually received the lowest votes among the nominated contestants.
Their eviction makes them the first housemates to exit the competition this season.
The 2026 BBNaija season premiered on July 26 with 24 housemates. The winner will receive N160 million, the biggest grand prize in the reality show’s history since its debut in 2006.
