Tonto Dikeh challenges stereotypes about wealthy people in a ministry sermon

Tonto Dikeh, the Nigerian actress, has challenged stereotypes about wealthy people, saying not every rich man is a ritualist and not every wealthy woman gets her money through relationships with men.

The Nollywood star made the remarks while preaching at her new ministry, New Wine Prophetic Tabernacle (NWPT), where she spoke about talent, gifts and inheritance as ways to build wealth.

Dikeh unveiled the ministry in August as “a spiritual home of consecrated believers”. In October, she also laid the foundation for its building.

Tonto Dikeh speaks on wealth and success

In a recent video circulating on X, the actress addressed her congregation, urging them to develop their talents and gifts to create wealth.

“There’s so much power in you to produce wealth, and yes, some of us are wealth. We don’t have wealth. We are the wealth,” she said.

She also encouraged her listeners to work on their abilities, adding: “You have to sharpen your talent and your gifts. The third one is for the universal system of prosperity”.

Dikeh then criticised the habit of linking wealthy people to rituals and other questionable sources of income.

“So when you see him (someone) driving a Lamborghini, you’re like, “Hmm, he’s a ritualist.” Not every rich man is a ritualist,” she said.

“Not every rich woman is sleeping with a man. Get it into your head. Some people work hard earnestly and don’t even know God, because they discovered a gift in them and they did not let it sleep.”

Actress says God is for everyone

The actress also challenged the belief that God belongs only to Christians and other religious believers.

“Who told you God is only for you as a believer? No. That’s why I laugh at all of you. And I said to God, I said, “I hope these people just understand that God is a God for everybody,” she added.

“The unbelievers and the believers alike. And none is more important. As a matter of fact, He is the one who will leave the ninety-nine and chase after the one.”
