Sola Sobowale opens elderly care facility in Ibadan

Sola Sobowale, the veteran Nollywood actress, has launched Joseph and Esther Homes, an elderly care facility in Ibadan, Oyo State, to provide older adults with professional care and a comfortable living environment.

The actress held the grand opening on Tuesday, with Seyi Makinde, the Oyo State governor, and several Nollywood stars in attendance.

Among the celebrities at the event were actors Kunle Afolayan, Ibrahim Chatta, Femi Adebayo and Oga Bello.

Sharing videos from the event on Instagram, Sobowale described the launch as a “dream come true”.

She also thanked Makinde for commissioning the facility and appreciated her friends, family members and colleagues for supporting the project.

“Yesterday was a dream come true. Joseph and Esther Homes is here @josephandestherhomes. Thank you, Your Excellency, for the honour of commissioning this estate @seyi_makinde,” she wrote.

“Thank you to everyone who made this day possible. Esteemed guests, Yoruba fathers, my colleagues, family and friends.”

Sobowale named the residential care home after her parents, Joseph and Esther Olagookun.

The facility offers older adults a safe and comfortable place to live. It also provides professional care and support while allowing residents to maintain their dignity and independence.

The opening ceremony also featured the launch of Sobowale’s book, Built From the Break.

Sobowale rose to prominence in 2001 after starring in Super Story: Oh Father, Oh Daughter, a popular Nigerian television series.
