Popular Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, aka Davido, has remembered his late son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, on what would have been the boy’s seventh birthday.
The singer shared a heartfelt tribute on his X account on Tuesday, October 20. His message reflected the love he and his wife, Chioma Adeleke, still have for their late son.
“LLI 🕊️ Happy birthday, son… Me and mommy miss and love you! Keep flying high,” he wrote.
Following the post, fans and well-wishers shared their reactions. Many also expressed sympathy for the couple and remembered Ifeanyi.
Born on October 20, 2019, Ifeanyi died on October 31, 2022. He drowned in a swimming pool at his family’s residence in Banana Island, Lagos, at the age of three.
Despite the painful loss, Davido and Chioma have continued to honour their son’s memory. The couple also welcomed twins, a boy and a girl, in October 2023.
Recently, they celebrated the twins’ third birthday. The milestone came as they continued to build their family following the loss of Ifeanyi.
Meanwhile, Davido has spoken about how the tragedy changed his life. In August 2025, the singer reflected on the experience and expressed pride in how he and Chioma had dealt with their loss.
