Toluwanisings’ family appeals for financial support for widow, kids

The family of Olayemi Bolaji, the late Nigerian gospel singer better known as Toluwanisings, has appealed for donations to support his widow and children following his death.

Toluwanisings died on October 14, although the cause of his death remains unknown.

Family appeals for financial support

In a post shared on the singer’s Instagram page on October 21, the family urged supporters to stand by his wife as they mourn his passing.

The post featured a flier with bank account details for donations. The family described every contribution as an act of kindness and solidarity during this difficult period.

“A Call for Love & Support: As we mourn the loss of our beloved brother, let us stand with his wife during this difficult season,” it reads.

“Every contribution, no matter how small, is a gesture of love and compassion.

“May God bless every giving heart and grant the family strength and comfort.”

Family announces tribute event

The family has also announced plans for a night of tributes and a service of songs to celebrate the singer’s life and ministry.

In a separate Instagram post, the family described him as “our beloved brother, friend, and gospel minister”. It said the gathering would honour his impact as they mourn “with heavy hearts, yet in gratitude to God”.

The event will be held on October 27 at 3 pm at the Hall of Grace, Jogor Centre, Ibadan, Oyo State. The family has asked guests to dress in white.

Singer’s final moments

Toluwanisings was known for his energetic praise songs, Yoruba-inspired gospel music and contemporary worship recordings. His popular hits include ‘A Very Big God’, ‘Eleda’ and ‘I’m Not Alone’.

After his death, Babadunni Gbolabo, his personal assistant, recounted the singer’s final moments. He said Toluwanisings was “fine and in perfect condition” before he suddenly slumped.

Gbolabo said people tried to resuscitate the singer and took him to eight hospitals in Ibadan. However, he claimed the hospitals refused to admit him, giving various reasons.
