Dangote Refinery IPO Opens Tomorrow as Investors Prepare for Landmark Share Sale

The Dangote Refinery IPO opens tomorrow, September 14, giving investors access to shares in Nigeria’s biggest industrial project. The landmark offer targets ₦2.15 trillion, making it one of Africa’s largest public share sales.

Investors can buy shares at ₦525 each, with a minimum subscription of 10 shares. That minimum investment costs ₦5,250, creating an entry point for Nigerian retail investors. The offer will remain open until October 13, according to the refinery’s official IPO website.

Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE plans to sell 4.1 billion ordinary shares. The company aims to broaden ownership while raising funds for its expansion programme. Aliko Dangote said ordinary Nigerians should have opportunities to own stakes in the refinery.

The company plans to expand refining capacity from 700,000 barrels daily to 1.4 million barrels. That expansion forms part of a wider $14.3 billion investment programme targeting energy infrastructure.

Dangote Refinery reported a $1.82 billion profit during the first half of 2026. The strong performance follows a $476 million loss during 2025.

Investors can subscribe through approved receiving agents and electronic application channels listed by the company.

Applicants should review the prospectus and understand investment risks before committing their money. The official website warns that share values can rise or fall after investors receive allocations.

Dangote Refinery expects its shares to begin trading on the Nigerian Exchange later in November. The Dangote Refinery IPO could mark a major shift in public participation within Nigeria’s energy industry.

Strong demand could make the offering a defining market moment.
