Davido: ‘Nigerian Politics Is Evil and I Don’t Want to Be a Part of It’

Davido has declared that “Nigerian politics is evil and I don’t want to be a part of it” following his support for Ademola Adeleke. The singer made the statement while responding to APC youth leader Dayo Israel, who praised his youth mobilisation efforts.

Davido had spent the week campaigning and showing strong public support for his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke. Adeleke sought re-election during the Osun governorship election after serving his first term as the state’s governor.

Responding to Israel’s comments, Davido insisted that nobody joined him during his political efforts or defended him throughout. He said, “I brought no one! No one defended me! I backed my family on my own!” during the heated response.

The singer also described his critics and political opponents as ruthless and disgusting before declaring that he had done his job. Davido’s frustration followed his visible involvement in Adeleke’s campaign, including efforts aimed at mobilising young voters across Osun State.

The singer now wants distance from political activities despite previously embracing his family’s political campaign. Davido’s political involvement has attracted significant attention because Adeleke remains both his uncle and one of Nigeria’s prominent politicians.
