Thanksgiving 2027 is about to get a lot colder as Disney prepares to return audiences to Arendelle with “Frozen 3,” which will hit cinemas on November 24, 2027.
The highly anticipated sequel will see major changes in the lives of some of the franchise’s beloved characters, with Anna and Kristoff set to get married, Olaf finding a love interest named Samantha, and a new villain emerging.
Disney has kept much of the plot under wraps but has confirmed that Kristen Bell will return as Anna, Idina Menzel as Elsa, Jonathan Groff as Kristoff and Josh Gad as Olaf.
The studio previously unveiled concept art for the film by Britney Lee in August 2024, showing Elsa riding a white horse and Anna on a brown stag.
Bell had earlier revealed that production was getting underway. However, she later denied reports that she would receive $60 million to reprise her role as Anna, calling the reported figure “absurd” and declining to disclose her actual pay.
The film will continue the Thanksgiving release tradition established by the first two instalments. The original “Frozen,” released in 2013, earned $1.3 billion worldwide and won two Oscars, including Best Animated Feature.
Its 2019 sequel performed even better, grossing $1.45 billion globally.
Meanwhile, a fourth “Frozen” movie is already in development, with Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez returning to compose the music for both upcoming films.
