A woman accused of threatening the life of late singer Mohbad’s widow, Wunmi Aloba, now faces detention at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre.
Shoyemi Titilayo appeared before Magistrate A.I. Alaka at a Lagos Magistrate Court over alleged threats against Wunmi and her son, Liam Aloba.
The court heard a five-count charge linked to a TikTok broadcast targeting the widow and her child.
Titilayo was arrested on Tuesday. She will stay in custody until she fulfils the bail conditions granted by the court.
What led to the case
Prosecutor Irorere Osas told the court that the alleged offences occurred between August 2025 and March 2026.
He said the incidents happened along the Lagos-Sango Road in Lagos State. He also told the court that Titilayo acted alongside other people who remain at large.
The prosecution accused Titilayo and others of conspiring to commit a felony by disturbing public peace.
Under Section 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015, the offence attracts punishment.
Meanwhile, another count focused on a TikTok live broadcast involving Wunmi.
During the broadcast, Titilayo allegedly accused Wunmi of killing her late husband. The prosecution said the claim could cause fear and alarm among members of the public.
In addition, the prosecution accused Titilayo of using the broadcast to call on members of the public to subject Wunmi and her minor son, Liam, to jungle justice.
Previous legal action against Wunmi’s accusers
This case comes after other legal actions involving people who made allegations against Wunmi over Mohbad’s death.
For instance, in July 2025, a Federal High Court in Lagos ordered two TikTokers to remain in custody.
The two men were Saheed Jamiu, also known as Osama, and Uyime Godwin Udoekwere.
According to the allegations, they accused Wunmi of killing the singer. Subsequently, police charged them with conspiracy, cyberstalking and defamation.
What happened to Mohbad?
Mohbad died in September 2023 at the age of 27. His death triggered widespread public concern and calls for an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
Wunmi, who was married to the singer, is the mother of his son, Liam.
However, she has faced repeated online accusations over Mohbad’s death. Wunmi has denied claims that she caused his death.
