Travis Kelce Opens Up on Taylor Swift Wedding: ‘It Was Perfect

Travis Kelce has opened up about his wedding to Taylor Swift, calling it the “best night of my life and saying their Madison Square Garden ceremony helped him fulfill a childhood dream.

The Kansas City Chiefs star spoke to reporters on Wednesday after returning to the practice field ahead of his 14th NFL season.

“It was a fun offseason, man,” Kelce said. “Wedding was the best night of my life, and I appreciate everybody who came out and celebrated and had fun with us.”

Travis Kelce’s Childhood Dream

Kelce said getting married at Madison Square Garden made the occasion even more special.

The NFL star grew up dreaming of visiting the famous New York venue. He once hoped to attend a New York Knicks playoff game there.

“I always told myself I’d go for a playoff game when the [New York] Knicks were rocking,” he said. “My wife went when I was stuck in training camp. I didn’t get my opportunity to go then.”

Swift had previously attended a Knicks game at Madison Square Garden. Kelce, however, eventually got his own chance to visit the iconic venue.

“It was cool to live out my childhood dream of being in that venue, the mecca of all sports venues,” Kelce said. “To be able get married there. I thanked the owners of MSG for allowing us to get the opportunity to do that, knowing that we wanted a private event, and it was perfect.”

A Star-Studded Wedding

Kelce and Swift married on July 3 at Madison Square Garden. Adam Sandler officiated the private ceremony.

Swift’s brother, Austin Swift, served as her man of honor. Kelce’s brother, Jason Kelce, was his best man. Kelce’s four nieces also served as flower girls.

Around 1,000 guests reportedly attended the celebration. The guest list included Selena Gomez, Julia Roberts, Ed Sheeran, Jack Antonoff, Tom Hanks, Zoë Kravitz, Steven Spielberg, Bradley Cooper and Gigi Hadid.

Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks and Tim McGraw reportedly performed at the reception. Kelce also joined the entertainment as the celebration turned into a star-studded karaoke session.

Couple Kept Ceremony Private

Kelce and Swift made major efforts to keep their wedding private.

Guests received digital invitations with their names watermarked on them. They were also required to sign non-disclosure agreements.

After the ceremony, AMC Theatres CEO Adam Aron shared his reaction to the transformed venue.

“It did not look like Madison Square Garden,” Aron wrote in a since-deleted post. He said part of the arena had been transformed into a lush garden.

Guests also received an ivory handkerchief as a keepsake. It featured the couple’s initials and a lyric from Swift’s 2014 hit “Blank Space.”

Kelce and Swift began dating in 2023 after the NFL star attended Swift’s Eras Tour show at Arrowhead Stadium.

The couple went public with their relationship later that year when Swift attended a Chiefs home game.
