Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has spoken for the first time about the growing rift in the Okoye family. He asked the public to respect their privacy and allow the family to handle its issues away from the spotlight.
Rudeboy Refuses to Join Public Dispute
In a statement released on August 6, 2026, Fire Department Inc., Rudeboy’s management, addressed the ongoing feud involving Rudeboy, his twin brother Peter Okoye (Mr P), and their elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye.
The statement said, “Fire Department Inc., the official management of Rudeboy, is aware of the ongoing public conversations surrounding recent events involving members of the Okoye family.
“While we understand the public interest, we believe that personal and family matters are best handled with dignity, respect, and responsibility. We will not be drawn into an exchange of allegations or commentary that distracts from the work, the fans, and the music.”
The management added that Rudeboy remains focused on his career despite the controversy.
“Rudeboy remains fully committed to his craft and deeply grateful for the unwavering support he continues to receive from fans across Nigeria, Africa, and the rest of the world. Their encouragement has been instrumental in the growing success of “Blessed & Alive” featuring Sarkodie, and our focus remains on sharing music that inspires, uplifts, and connects people.”
Appeal for Respect
The statement also urged fans and media organisations to avoid spreading rumours.
“We respectfully ask our supporters, media partners, and the public to allow space for professionalism and mutual respect. We encourage everyone to avoid speculation and to rely on verified information rather than rumours or online commentary.”
Feud Continues to Grow
The latest statement follows fresh tension between the former P-Square members. The latest round of the dispute began after Mr P said he did not mind if his children could not speak the Igbo language.
Soon after, Rudeboy shared a music video celebrating his Igbo heritage. Many fans saw the post as a response to his twin brother.
Mr P later released a series of Instagram videos. He accused Rudeboy and Jude of bullying him, forcing him out of P-Square, and stealing millions of dollars from him and the music group.
His video series, now in Part 7, has drawn widespread attention. It also prompted responses from Rudeboy and Jude.
The family dispute has also moved to the courts. It includes an EFCC case involving Jude Okoye and a separate legal battle between Jude and Mr P. With both sides standing firm, a reconciliation does not appear close.
