Popular Yoruba actor Okiki Adeshina, widely known as Janmole, has died after sustaining injuries in a tragic car accident, according to the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN).

The actor’s death was announced by TAMPAN President, Bolaji “Mr Latin” Amusan, in an Instagram post on Monday. He revealed that Adeshina succumbed to injuries suffered in the crash, leaving family, friends, and colleagues in mourning.

Paying tribute to the late actor, Mr Latin wrote: “May the soul of our departed colleague, Adesina Okiki Janmole, who tragically lost his life in an accident, rest in perfect peace.

“May God grant his family, friends, and colleagues the strength and comfort to bear this irreparable loss. He will be greatly missed. Amen.”

The news has sparked an outpouring of grief across the Yoruba movie industry, where Adeshina built a reputation through his performances in several indigenous films.

Actor Jomiloju Olunbe also paid tribute to his late colleague while recalling their final moments together on a movie set.

“I never knew it would be the last time on set with him. In this very video, he was saying ” Jomiloju, I no know say I fine pass you like this o”. What a life! R.I.P Okiki Adeshina Oshin.”
