What sounded like just another studio session ended up becoming a standout memory for Shallipopi, who recently spoke about his experience working with Wizkid during an interview on Afrobeats Intelligence with Joey Akan.
According to Shallipopi, the energy in the studio was nothing short of electric. He described the session as “lit,” explaining that everyone was in high spirits, joking, creating, and still locked into the music at the same time. For him, it didn’t feel like a formal recording session; it felt more like a shared creative space where ideas just flowed naturally.
He also highlighted Wizkid’s presence in the studio, noting how focused and consistent he is when it comes to making music. Once Wizkid steps into that zone, Shallipopi said, it’s all about the work—no distractions, just pure creativity in motion. That kind of energy, he admitted, pushes everyone around to stay sharp and fully engaged.
When asked how their chemistry felt, Shallipopi hinted that it came effortlessly. There was no need to force anything; the vibe was already there, and it fed directly into the sound they were creating together.
Perhaps the most surprising part of the conversation came when he revealed how fast the song came together. According to him, the recording didn’t drag on—it was wrapped up in about an hour. Even in its raw form, before mixing or polishing, he said the record already sounded special.
